SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here are the three winners of Sioux Falls annual Paint the Plow contest.
McCrossan Boys Ranch, Frontier Elementary, and Patrick Henry Middle School were the top picks of those who attended the big event at the Empire Mall on Saturday. The winning plows will be driven in the Parade of Lights in downtown Sioux Falls.
Kids from dozens of schools painted the plows anyway they wanted.
And something new and cool was added to this year’s event. Children put their names in a drawing so some lucky kid can be picked to ride a snowplow from home to school one day.
“..Lot of them were jumping up and down and screaming, and their, like, Yeah Mom, I want this! so it was pretty exciting.” City Streets Chief Dustin Hanson tells Kelo Radio News.
He says the lucky winner will be announced this week after the city gets all the logistics and legalities worked out.
