SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Shots were fired Sunday night in Sioux Falls as a suspect was in pursuit by police.
Police were responding to a call at a house on the 3500 block of North 6th Avenue when the suspect started to run.
The officers broadcasted a “shots fired” advisory.
Only one of the two officers discharged their weapon, and as of now, an accurate count of how many shots were fired has not been verified.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
No citizens or officers were injured.

On October 6, 2019, at around 9:30 pm, officers were at call for service in the 3300 block of North 8th Avenue.
Witnesses said that the suspect was armed and had run from the area prior to police arriving.
Two Street Crimes Unit (SCU) officers went to the 3500 block of North 6th Avenue to monitor a house where the suspect might be.
Around 10:25 pm SCU officers saw the suspect and approached him. The suspect started to run and a few moments later, the officers broadcast a “shots fired” advisory.
The suspect was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment and as of this release, his condition is not known.
No citizens or officers were injured. Only one of the two SCU officers discharged their weapon, and at this point, an accurate count of how many shots were fired has not been verified.
The scene is still being held for evidence processing and further investigation.
As is our standard procedure, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation has taken over the investigation. More information will be released later Monday morning.
