SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Mayor Paul Tenhaken gives a special “shout-out” to a second-grade class from West Virginia.
Skyview Elementary School sent a care package to Sioux Falls after last month’s tornadoes, complete with a letter and pictures.
“We learned about the tornado and we hope everything is okay!” reads the letter from the Skyview Elementary class, which was sent to Mayor Paul TenHaken’s office. “We love you all! We are wishing that your town will be fixed soon. We are very glad and happy you are okay.”
The students also colored a variety of pictures and included them, and invited Sioux Falls residents to West Virginia, which they called “tornado, hurricane, and earthquake free.”
TenHaken talked about the letter in a Facebook Live on Wednesday morning and shared his appreciation for the gift.
