SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Sanford PR) – ESPNU will broadcast the Wisconsin vs. Saint Mary’s regular-season men’s college basketball game live at 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

This marks Wisconsin’s second trip to the Pentagon and their second game of the regular season. Saint Mary’s will start their regular season off at the Pentagon. This will be the team’s first visit to the Pentagon.
“Hosting two NCAA Tournament teams in Wisconsin and Saint Mary’s at the Sanford Pentagon delivers on our promise to provide first-class, championship-quality basketball programs to Sioux Falls,” said Kevin Lampe, president of Sanford Sports. “It will be fun to see the Badgers back on Heritage Court six years after their first game here, and it will be exciting to welcome the Gaels to the Pentagon. This will be a fantastic matchup for our fans and an incredible way to start the college basketball season,” said Lampe.
Wisconsin, a member of the Big Ten, is coming off a 23-11 overall season, finishing fourth in the conference. The Badgers lost to Oregon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Saint Mary’s, a WCC member, finished last season with a 22-12 record, defeating No.1 Gonzaga to win the WCC Championship. The Gaels lost to Villanova in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
This will be the third meeting between Wisconsin and SMC, with a tied 1-1 series. The two teams last played in 1976 at Wisconsin.
The Pentagon’s appearance on ESPNU will mark the ninth time the venue has been featured on national television for a men’s basketball game. In 2013, the Wisconsin and St. John’s matchup was broadcast live by the Big Ten Network. The 2014 Wichita State and Memphis game aired as part of ESPN’s Tip-Off College Marathon. In 2015, ESPN2 televised the match-up between Iowa State and Colorado, and the Big Ten Network featured Oklahoma State and Minnesota. Vanderbilt and Minnesota were live streamed on ESPN3 in 2016. The Big Ten Network carried Iowa and Colorado in 2017 and also Nebraska and Oklahoma State in 2018. The 2019 overtime game between Omaha and South Dakota was available for live streaming on ESPN+.
