HURON, S.D. (KELO.com) — The 2019 South Dakota State Fair pulled in more taxes than last year.
Nearly $218,000 in total tax collections – that’s nearly 6 percent higher than from last year’s fair.
The State Revenue Department says that this year’s fair featured 435 vendors, an increase from 2018.
The taxes collected break down like this: $115,080 in state sales tax, $37,511 in state tourism tax and $65,332 in municipal sales tax for the city of Huron.
