SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Downtown Sioux Falls and other downtown businesses are coming together for Park(ing) Day 2019 Friday, September 20.
Four parking spaces in front of downtown Sioux Falls business will be transformed into parklets.
Participating businesses and locations include:
Confluence Co-op Architecture, CPM Fitness & Strong Towns – Sioux FallsJLG Architects
“Park(ing) Day is a really fun opportunity for the people of Sioux Falls to reimagine a small slice of downtown by using parking spaces as miniature parks. We’re really excited to see what the participating businesses come up with this year!” says Joe Batcheller, DTSF President.
Park(ing) Day is a worldwide effort that began in 2005 in San Francisco, California to create and repurpose urban spaces by temporarily turning metered parking spots into small parks or “parklets”. Past parklets have included interactive art exhibits, outdoor classrooms, public dog parks, lawn bowling courses, and other public demonstrations.
