MONTROSE, S.D. (KELO.com) — When the water levels started rising in the town of Montrose Wednesday Lori Boddicker rushed to make sure her elderly mom was ok.
Lori spent all night Wednesday helping her mom pump water out of the family home’s basement.
Thursday Peggy Jesse, Lori’s mom, was evacuated out of her home in Montrose.
Saturday the family was allowed back into the town and the home only to find the house was still surrounded by water.
The main level of the home ended up with 8″ of water damaging flooring, drywall, and personal items.
The house also shifted on its foundation causing structural damage.
The family is still pumping water of the basement with pumps running off generators.
This isn’t the first time Peggy has dealt with floodwaters in her home, in the flood of 93′ the home had 12″ of water on the main level.
