SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO.com) — Getting the lights back on after Tuesday night’s tornadoes in Sioux Falls has been a group effort.
Xcel Energy spokesperson Eric Pauli said roughly 500 people are working to restore power in Sioux Falls. That includes technicians in the field as well as workers in Xcel Energy’s office.
“We literally have a small army out there to get this done as quickly and safely as possible,” Pauli said at a media briefing Wednesday.
Xcel said roughly 26,000 people were without power at the height of the storm. More than 60 electric poles were damaged.
