SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — All the torrential rain that caused serious flooding to the north and west of Sioux Falls, unfortunately, has to go somewhere.
National Weather Service Sioux Falls Bureau Chief, Todd Heitkamp, says much of that water is now flowing down the Big Sioux River. It will flood the usual suspects in the Sioux Falls area.
“If you experienced flooding in March, I would say that you could expect the same over the next couple of days.”
The Big Sioux was already at record levels near Dell Rapids. Free sandbags are now available to Dell Rapids residents at 3rd and Orleans in the city.
Skunk Creek will be another flood zone just like it was in the Spring.
First tornadoes and now flooding. It’s a double weather whammy for Sioux Falls.
