SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — About 25,000 customers were without power during the height of the tornado-laced storm in Sioux Falls.
Just hours later, Xcel Energy had restored power to about a third of the total and has been steady working to bring everyone back up.
It’s all hands on deck, says Xcel Spokesman Eric Pauli. Crews have been coming in from all over.
“We are going to be 400 employees strong. That includes field staff, that includes local designers, all of our internal folks in the office, as well.”
Many large trees toppled into power lines, complicating the recovery effort.
