SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police Chief Matt Burns denies media reports that his department is under investigation by the South Dakota Attorney General.
He says the reports were news to him, so he called the Attorney General’s office.
“I was assured we are not under investigation,” Burns said at this morning’s police briefing. “Nothing’s been referred to their office and there’s nothing to that.”
The story was that the police were being investigated for how they handled a call to the home of Minnehaha County State’s Attorney Aaron McGowan. McGowan has not been working since mid-July, citing medical reasons.
