SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Research is underway to create a visual Sioux Falls brand – basically, a new logo that represents all facets of the community.
It won’t be easy.
“Absolutely it’s a challenge, and it’s a fun challenge and I’m looking forward to seeing what the outcome will be,” says Jennie Doyen with the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber, the City, and the Development Association are all involved, but they also want you involved.
Doyen says community surveys will start in the fall and there will be a Community Identity Workshop at the downtown library September 11. The goal is a unified brand to better promote all facets of Sioux Falls.
“We see value in telling our story together and we do that, in one first step, by sharing a visual identity,” explains Doyen.
An example of what they’re shooting for is the logo for Fargo, North Dakota, and its slogan ‘North of Normal.’ Doyen says that Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska also have unified visual brands.
