SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Street construction update:
Lane Closure – West 57th Street
Beginning on Friday morning, August 23, 2019, the outside westbound lane of West 57th Street will be closed to through traffic between West Batcheller Lane and South Isabel Place.
The 57th Street access to Yankton Trail Park will be set up to allow only right turns in and right turns out to improve traffic flow for the Dakota Alliance Soccer Tournament through Monday, August 25, 2019. The Minnesota Avenue access to Yankton Trail Park will also be set up to allow only right turns out of the park.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Updated Phillips Avenue and Seventh Street Construction
The work at the intersection of Seventh Street and Phillips Avenue that was originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, has been rescheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
Beginning on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, construction crews will be working in the intersection of North Phillips Avenue and Seventh Street to perform concrete pavement repairs. Both northbound and southbound traffic on Phillips Avenue will be shifted to the west side of Phillips Avenue. Seventh Street will be limited to right turn in and right turn out only. There will be no parking on the west side of Phillips Avenue at Seventh Street near the work area during construction.
Work is expected to be completed within one week with favorable weather conditions.

Street Closure – Beal Avenue
Beginning on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, Beal Avenue will be closed south of 69th Street as part of the reconstruction project for 69th Street between Louise Avenue and Medical Court. Motorists should utilize Beal Place as an alternate route.
This project is anticipated to be completed this fall.
Old Yankton Road Ralph Rogers Road to 57th Street
Roadway Improvements
Beginning on Thursday, August 22, 2019, Phase 3A work will start for roadway improvements on Old Yankton Road from South Swift Park Drive to 57th Street. Old Yankton Road at 57th Street will be reduced to one lane for eastbound traffic and traffic south of 57th will remain fully closed to thru traffic. Local traffic on Old Yankton Road will have access from West Ralph Rogers Road to Barrington Drive.
The project includes removing the existing asphalt surface and installing a new asphalt surface. Minor ditch grading and storm sewer work will be performed. This work is anticipated to be completed by late August of 2019.
