CUSTER STATE PARK, SD (KELO.com) — It isn’t often that thousands of people descend on the remote prairie hills of Southwestern South Dakota. But, it happens at least once a year for the Custer State Park Buffalo Roundup. In the crowd this year, Tom Rooney’s son Matt and his friend Jay Fisher, who’s attending his sixth roundup.
This is the third straight roundup for Rod Perry of Aurora, Nebraska.
Governor Kristi Noem is leading the charge, participating in the roundup on horseback. Officials say more than 20-thousand people attended today’s roundup.
