SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Rural broadband access is getting a boost in the Senate.
Senator John Thune, ranking member of the Subcommittee on Communications, Media, and Broadband, has taken the lead in introducing the bipartisan Rural Connectivity Advancement Program Act of 2021.
This legislation would dedicate a portion of proceeds from congressionally mandated spectrum auctions to be used for the buildout of broadband networks, which would help strengthen connectivity in rural communities throughout the country.
