INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, MN (KELO.com) — Ten bald eagles are under the care of the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center, potentially poisoned from euthanized animals that were improperly disposed of. The center posted on social media, the first eagle arrived on December 4th. The next day, another was reported in similar condition near a landfill in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. Volunteers went to rescue it and found 9 sick bald eagles. Another was brought in the next day. The Raptor Center said it was confirmed that carcasses of animals had been euthanized with chemicals and were brought to the landfill. They said it was likely the eagles scavenged on them and were poisoned. One of the 11 has died.
