Friday
at the LPGA Sioux Falls Great Life
Challenge
Day 1 in the books for the 4th
Annual LPGA Sioux Falls Great Life Symetra Challenge.
Today we do our 2 hour show from just a few
feet away from the 9th
green—the hole that played the toughest on
Thursday of the 18 holes.
Our new friends from Digit-ALL have this
showroom that has become our broadcast studio.
We are just feet away from the 143 LPGA
Symetra Players—it allows us to be able to see—keep our noise inside—and not
distracting those battling a green that was truly challenging on Thursday.
First golfers were off at 7:30 this
morning—-they play in groups of 3—tee times 11 minutes apart. Half start on
1 the other half on 9.
The LPGA Tour is truly a worldwide circus.
The leaders—Linnea Strom from Hovas Sweden and Leona Maguire—County Cavan
Ireland.
Maguire goes off at 1:04—Strom at 1:16. The
#1 player on this tour..Dottie Ardina—plays with Maguire at 1:04—she is tied for
3rd.
The cut will be top 60 and ties—right now
those +2 are inside the cut-line.
The top 10 players on this tour are given
LPGA Play Cards for the 2019 season.
For Sioux Falls this is a great event. We’ll
talking with the people that make it happen.
Tom Walsh—Mr. Great Life—will be on with
us as we start the first hour at 9:07. For Tom this was a dream—the
volunteers still come back, it’s the 2nd
riches purse on the Symetra
Tour — and what it does for spreading the legend of Sioux Falls and his Great
Life is truly amazing.
Zach Spenanik will join us early—he is the
Symetra Tour and Public Relations guide that is bringing players and interview
to our Digit-all studio site above the 9th
green.
Ryan Austad joins us to talk about Golf in
Sioux Falls. He is the son of Dave Austad—Mr. Golf—who have their hands in
virtually every golf circle in this area. We’ll talk about how this is good for
not only those playing golf—and watching the Symetra Tour – but in bringing
families together for interesting outings.
9:32—Ron Nelson—Nelson Commercial Real Estate
will explain how this event and others make Sioux Falls a destination location.
Plus he’ll update any concerns we have about the downtown scare on Thursday.
Jessie Schmidt—BBB of South Dakota—is a
cheerleader for our community and we’ll talk about the importance of this
event. In addition she’ll be able to talk about any of the scams and shaming we
see on the horizon.
Jason Sudenga—Director of Golf for Great Life
will join us in both hours—along with those volunteering and why they do it —and
players that Zach brings to us.
We’ll close the first hour with Diana
Patterson—Sanford—with career opportunities for RN’s and LPN’s.
10:07—starts hour two

all the trade talk —from Kooima and Kaemingk.
Mr. Tree—John Ball shares the deadline we are
at today with Emerald Ash Borer. Plus he’ll explain what you look for when you
are among the thousands walking the grounds at Willow Run this weekend. Just
what does an emerald ash borer look like?
South Dakota State Fair is progress in Huron…Candi
Briley tells us what to expect this weekend. Included SD Farmers Union lunch on
Saturday—sharing just how much farmers get out of a traditional $10 to $12
lunch. Our friends from SD Farm Bureau will be part of the scene on the State
Fairgrounds as well.
Two other upcoming events—Up With People
coming to Sioux Falls—we’ll talk with three members all from our trade or is it
former trade partners—Mexico and Canada.
Washington Pavilion is preparing for their
Sidewalks Art festival next Saturday.
We’ll also visit with Sioux Falls Golf—if
you bring your ticket from the Symetra Tour event at Willow Run—you get a
discount.
