No Farris Wheel Ride? We Are Live at Scheels - It's YOUR Business (Seg 2)

$25 million remodeling -- nearly 200,000 Square Feet --- and Sioux Falls gets one of the largest Schells Store.

As the 1st Lieutenants we are for Midwest Communication -- we were live from the Catwalk -- putting our 671st and 672nd show at a new height.

Scheels has been remodeled --- and created a lot of attention. The Farris wheel has people waiting in line on the weekend to ride. Changes have been made with merchandise --- and the biggest of the promotions come on Saturday.

While the doors open at 9:00 on Saturday --- its the 6 to 9AM parking lot side of this you need to address.

$10,000 worth of Scheels gift card giveaways sponsored by Silver Stone Group.

Those arriving 6 to 9 (first 250) have the opportunity in the parking lot -- to qualify for a $1000 Scheels gift card. $9000 in gift cards will be given away in the parking lot.

Free donuts from Fly by Donuts --Champions Forever Showtimes are 7:00 - 7:45 and 8:30. It promises to be a circus atmosphere.

During our hour we talked with Scheels best---Christy Schauer, Melanie Heller who rode with me on the farris wheel. Chris Kray, and Mike Walldaire. What was obvious from each was the ownership they take from this new store -- and the people that visit it.

  • Jesse Schmidt--South Dakota Better Business Bureau reported on the latest scheme that has no real address in Sioux Falls or Rapid City.
  • Rich Larson-- Larson Motors -- has a charity sale this weekend. $500 from every car sold at the KMART lot goes to benefit Healing Power for Heather --a young woman battling cancer.
  • Dr. Tim Lee Burton--Speciality Orthopedics --talked the aching we are getting this time of year and how quick his staff can get you in and back on the road again. He also bought a golf ball retriever and 100 golf balls. He said they were me the host--but he walked out the door with them.
  • Paul Doherty--Golf Etc has just won a prestigious award for his work fixing those who have golf bag trouoble.
  • Adam Scott--Golf Addiction with twin boys on his lap promotedhis new bean bags tournaments and fit nicelywith hunting and golf simulation.Golf Addiction has just one slot left for a creative but tripthat lets you see 3 or 4 Great Life Courses in the same day.
  • Jim Lowe Advana Mortgage updates the loan snapshot of the day. Plus reminded us if you are out on Parade of Homes ---you can call 275-2777to check what your monthly mortgage might be.
  • Scott Varilek--Kooima Kaemingk previewed his commodity report that aired at 11:30 on KELO Newstalk 1320/107.9 and on the world wide web.
  • Dakota Construction Careers is looking to help those who are bricklayers, carpenters, cement masons, iron workers, operating engineers, and painters. They have just held these sessions in North Dakota, Pierre and Rapid City last week. This week in Sioux Falls and Aberdeen. Sioux Falls session is schedule 4-8 today and 10-5 tomorrow at the Club House Hotel on Louise.
  • Ashley Saras -- Orange City Tulip Festival -- this is the weekend.Ashley was quick to explain what a trip to Orange City for you and your family would mean Friday and Saturday.
  • Todd Neuberger -- Edward Jones had the Main Street to Wall Street report.
  • John at Valentino's talks lunch at 41st and Willow.

As for Scheels it has doubled in size in the last 16 months. The farris wheel is just one change at 41st and Western.
