In the recent past, we have discussed amateur night holidays; Halloween, New Year's Eve and St. Patrick's Day.
Now the spring of the year and the Business Addiction and Recovery show on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday's 9-10 a.m. visits with two that have been recovering seven years each.
Sioux Falls with it Tall Grass Recovery and with Face it Together --- continues to listen to those that need help. Sometimes the help is a family intervention.
Regardless, our show is there to encourage, inform and give you a place or two to turn.
Joan Swenson lead us through the show from Tall Grass as the Recovery Admissions and Marketing Alliance.
Kristine is the guest services manager and sober living home coordinator. She is a sober home alumni seven years (almost). She shared how she works thru the Tall Grass program and after prison, probation and making a change she is now a psychology student at SDSU.
Brad is a volunteer for Tall Grass and Face it Together who does many many things. He has been in recovery seven years. He mentors people through the first seven of the 12 steps. Brad likes the one on one discussions trying to help and when he does, he knows he has made somebody's day and maybe saved their life.
The Tuesday show reviewed people who help us in other shows....
March 11th--Jessie, a month who had just hit the 9 month milestone to recovery. A case of drugs that she first took from her aunt.
February 25th--Gloria Damgaard, Executive Director of South Dakota Board of Nursing led the discussion on nurses and taking medications. There is no mandatory reporting in South Dakota meaning hospitals don't have to report a nurse who is suspected of abusing drugs and there is no routine drug testing.
February 11th, we discussed the death of Actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and addressed how widespread relapses are and the need to get them help.
January 14th, the Addiction Recovery Show talked about Binge Drinking; a top ten list of cities in the United States listed Fargo #1, Brookings #5, Lincoln #10.
