The South Dakota State Medical Association (SDSMA) has announced its 2014 Advocacy Agenda. The annual public policy agenda prioritizes the advocacy activities of the association.
Among the SDSMA’s top priorities this session is expanding Medicaid coverage for those earning up to 100 percent of the poverty level. Because Gov. Daugaard did not include Medicaid expansion in his budget, the SDSMA is concerned about those who will be left without coverage if the state does not expand eligibility.
Dr. Heinemann discusses this and other legislative interests with Greg Belfrage.
