HURON, S.D. (KELO-AM) – The South Dakota State Fair Foundation announced today Monsanto Brands Channel, DeKalb, Asgrow and Rea Hybrids have given $100,000 to the Capital Campaign for the building of a new exhibit hall on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds.

“We here at Monsanto feel honored to have the opportunity to partner with the South Dakota State Fair and 4-H to support the future of agriculture in the great state of South Dakota,” said Todd Gannon, Monsanto South Dakota area business manager. “4-H and the youth involved in 4-H programs are the foundation of our agriculture community and they are essential to a promising future. We are very proud we could contribute in a small way to South Dakota’s youth efforts in making South Dakota a stronger and even better place to live.”

The new 46,910 square-foot exhibit hall will feature more than 35,000 square feet of exhibit space, multiple classrooms, a large kitchen for 4-H Special Foods competitions, year-round concessions and a performance stage.

“Monsanto has long been a solid partner to the Fair through its brands’ sponsorships, and they took their commitment one step further with this generous contribution,” said Jerome Hertel, SD State Fair director. “We are fortunate to have such great partners stepping up to better our youth’s future.”
