Sioux Falls, S.D. (KELO AM) - The National Weather Service has placed much of the Sioux Falls area in a Flood Warning until 7:30PM Tuesday
The area impacted reaches from Brookings south to the Iowa boarder and includes the Salem and Yankton areas.
Minnehaha County Emergency Manager Lynn DeYoung said there have been numerous reports of rural roads washing out. Homeowners in Sioux Falls are also beginning to discover basements that have been overtaken by water, while some have had basements collapse completely.
Monday afternoon saw flooded streets and roads, flooded parks and stalled cars all over the Sioux Empire. With June just halfway over the month has already set a record for wettest month in Sioux Falls history.
