Washington, DC (KELO-AM) South Dakota Senator Tim Johnson (D) is maknig a rare break with Presiden Obama, refusing to support his nominee for Ambassador to Norway.
George Tsunis, a wealthy Obama contributor, had embarressing confirmation hearings earlier this year. Among other stumbles, he simply didn't know that much about Norway.
Johnson says Tsunis is not the right person for the job. Other Democrats have also expressed doubts about Tsunis.
Johnson says he is a proud American of Norwegian and Swedish heritage and the nominee's lack of knowledge about Norway did not give him confidence that Tsunis would be an effective ambassador.
