Sioux Falls, SD (KWSN)- The Sioux Falls Storm is pleased to announce the signing of three new offensive linemen for the 2014 season.
Shawn Flanagan (6’5”, 290lbs) signed with the University of Oregon as a defensive lineman, but made the switch to the offensive side during his redshirt season. After playing two seasons with the Ducks, Flanagan transferred to University of Sioux Falls making an immediate impact on the Cougar’s offensive line. In his only season as a Cougar, Flanagan did not surrender a single sack and helped USF win their third national title in school history. In 2008, Flanagan was named to the first team All-Conference squad and was also named an NAIA All-American. In 2009, Flanagan signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.
Marcus Gordon (6’6”, 315lbs) finished his college career at Kentucky State and brings a wealth of experience to the offensive line. Gordon has spent time with the Denver Broncos, Hamilton TigerCats of the CFL, Kansas City Command and Philadelphia Soul of the AFL, and most recently the Erie Explosion of the CIFL.
Rashaud Mungro (6’6”, 315lbs) played four consecutive seasons at Eastern Kentucky University after redshirting his first year. Mungro spent time with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League, and most recently played for the Eastern Kentucky Drillers of the UIFL where he was a first team All-UIFL selection.
Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs stated, “These are three players we felt could compete for a starting position on the offensive line. Our offense starts with our line play, which has been solid over the years. We feel these three fit the mold to continue our on field success.”
