Undated (KELO-AM) State Democratic Party Chairman Zach Crago says Minnesota's decision Thursday to raise the minimum wage makes him even more confident that South Dakota will do so.
Minnesota's wage would go to $9.50 an hour by 2016. South Dakota voters this November will decide on an increase to $8.50 an hour. Crago says certainly South Dakota workers deserve a "modest" increase, especially since Minnesota and other states are opting for even higher increases.
Critics of raising the minimum wage in South Dakota say it will actually cost jobs.
