SDSU grad to host all-new Wild Kingdom webisodes premiering Sunday

Brookings S.D. (KELO AM) - South Dakota State University graduate Stephanie Arne will make her official debut as the new "Wild Guide" for Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. The all-new online webisode series is set to premiere Sunday at 6 p.m. on wildkingdom.com and the Wild Kingdom TV YouTube channel. Featuring Arne as Wild Guide, the webisodes will be a high-impact, mini-episode version of the classic Wild Kingdom program, redefined for today's generation of viewers and broadcast online.

"Each webisode is only about six minutes long and just packed with good information and fun!" Arne said. "They premiere each Sunday evening—just like the original show. It's good family entertainment and we hope people will watch."

Arne and the Wild Kingdom film crew traveled to several locations to feature footage of many animals and environments. The premiere webisode, "Reef Madness," highlights the coral reef restoration in the Florida Keys.

"We've got four incredible stories to tell. I went back to my roots in 'Where the Buffalo Roam,' which was filmed in South Dakota," Arne said. "I also got to explore the coral reef in Florida. They're doing some really creative things to replenish the reef."

In July, Arne was officially named the new Wild Guide to host the webisode series. More than 200 candidates, including Arne, participated in a nationwide online competition. Arne was selected, along with two other candidates, as a finalist by a public online voting; the final casting was made by Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom producers.

For 50 years, Wild Kingdom has been sharing stories about the world's wildest places and creatures. To learn more and view the premiere webisode, visit www.wildkingdom.com. To learn more about Stephanie Arne, visit her website and become a fan on Facebook.
