SIOUX FALLS, SD (KWSN)– The Sioux Falls Canaries make their 2013 Welcome Home season debut this Friday night, and they are offering fans a chance to begin the celebration early with “Breakfast at the Birdcage” from 7-9 a.m. on Friday morning.
A free breakfast will be supplied to fans that stop by, courtesy of Hot Stuff Foods, and the first 50 people to arrive will receive a free “Birds are Back” t-shirt. There are plenty of reasons for fans to stick around while they enjoy a delicious breakfast. Many notables will be on hand to greet fans, including:
· Canaries manager Steve Shirley and players, who will sign autographs.
· The Dugout Divas, the Canaries dance team.
· Chris and Doc of the Chris and Doc Show, who will broadcast live 6 - 9 a.m. from the Birdcage on KTWB 101.9-FM.
In addition, there will be several fun activities. Fans can take a crack at hitting a ball out of the park in the Canaries batting cage on the field. Inflatables from Xcite Family Fun Zone will be available for kids, and the Canaries Pro Shop will be open for fans to get a first look at new Canaries merchandise.
Finally, fans can register for a chance to win a luxury suite to use at the Birdcage this weekend and watch a Canaries game in style, complete with luxury indoor amenities and an outdoor viewing porch.
Breakfast at the Birdcage is a prelude to a fantastic weekend as the Canaries host the Sioux City Explorers for three straight games beginning Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Friday night features a First Premier Bank Magnetic Schedule Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans and the ever-popular Friday postgame fireworks show. At 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, the first 500 fans will receive a “Birds are Back” t-shirt, sponsored by Auto-Owner Insurance. The series concludes at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday with a Family Funday matinee.
