SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KWSN) – Augustana head women’s tennis coach Marc Kurtz announced today the signing of Christine Olivo to a letter of intent to continue her academic and tennis career at Augustana.
Olivo, a native of Bozeman, Mont., is a 2013 graduate of Bozeman High School as a three-year letterwinner in tennis. Olivo was a three-time team captain and played at No. 1 singles and doubles all three seasons. As a senior, Olivo compiled a 20-3 record in singles play and advanced to the AA State Semifinals individually, and was a member of the state championship team. She was a member a state championship team in 2012 and won the Class AA doubles state championship. During her sophomore season, Olivo won a singles conference championship before placing fifth at the AA State Tournament."We are really excited to add Christine to our team,” Kurtz said. “She is an excellent player who will contribute immediately to our program.
Christine is a top recruit out of the Intermountain Section and we are thrilled that she chose Augustana. Christine has yet to reach her potential and I am really looking forward to watching her improve by being able to hit with quality players on a daily basis."Olivo joins Meredith Lawrence, who signed with Augustana in November, on the 2013-14 recruiting class.Augustana finished the season 21-3, including 12-0 in NSIC competition to win its fourth straight regular season title.
