ANN ARBOR (WKZO) -- After winning just about every top prize in collegiate basketball but the National Championship, and coming close to that, Alfonso Clark “Trey” Burke III has decided the time is right to leave the Wolverines and jump to the NBA. At a Sunday news conference, the Naismith and Wooden award recipient says he will enter the draft, which is scheduled for June 27th.

Burke stated. "I feel that is the right decision for me and my future. It has been a dream of mine to play in the NBA, and I feel excited and well prepared to take that next step in my career."

Burke also claimed the Oscar Robertson Trophy, and was named the Big Ten’s Player of the Year. The 6-foot point guard led the Michigan Wolverines to the Final Four for the first time in two decades.

He is expected to go in the top 10 in the draft.
