Boomer Esiason Apologizes for "C-Section" Comment

by Jerry Bader

I've been in a position where I've had to apologize; this sounds to me as though Boomer was taking a beating. My position on this was that if MLB offers 3 days for the birth of a child no player should be criticized for taking it. And I thought the criticism was particularly harsh considering it's the opening series of the season.

If the Mets are tied for a division title in the last series of the regular season, this becomes a much, much bigger debate. Setting that aside, Esiason's comment that his wife should have had a c-section so he didn't miss any games with just short of bizarre. Actually, it wasn't short of bizarre at all.

And yes, pretty much anyone in talk radio has allowed themselves to get lost in the moment and push a point too far. That includes me. But that's a strange thing to suggest and I applaud Esiason for admitting that.
