President Obama rolled out his signature outrage this morning to address serious problems within the Veterans Administration.
There have been allegations of major backlogs in care lasting many months, patients that died while on secret waiting lists and VA whistle-blowers who were demoted and mocked.
Some members of Congress, as well as the American Legion and other veterans groups, have called for the resignation ofVeterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki.
President Obama finally responded personally to the growing VA scandal this morning.
"If these allegations prove to be true, it is dishonorable, it is disgraceful, and I will not tolerate it, period," Obama said.
This is the same "shock and outrage" routine we've seen from the president over and over again. He had same reaction to the murder of the U.S. Ambassador in Benghazi, wrongdoing within the Secret Service, the botchedroll-outof Healthcare.gov and the scandal at the IRS.
The president screws on his angry face, wags a finger, promises to get to the bottom of it, and then goes back to playing golf. The reality is that no one has held accountable by Obama in any of his administration's scandals. When has he ever gotten to the bottom of anything?
Even the media appears to be catching on. A Rueters report on this morning's news conference attributed the remarks to an "angry-sounding" Obama.
They didn't report that Obama was angry. He was angry sounding. There's a difference.
According to the Washington Times , Obama has known about problems with the VA since he took office.
However, today Obama says, "I will not tolerate it."
Why not? He's been tolerating it up until now.
Despite the president's promises today, don't expect things to get better. This is the kind of government healthcare that Obama has foisted on the entire nation. The real nightmare is yet to come.
