Tony Dungy demonized by militant gay rights crowd

Former coach Tony Dungy is being excoriated online after comments he made about the NFL's first openly gay player.

Dungy told the Tampa Tribune the he would have not have picked up Sam. "Not because I don't believe Michael Sam should have a chance to play, but I wouldn't want to deal with all of it."

News of Dungy's comments aren't being well received in the Twitterverse...

These last comments by Chris Kluwe are particularly hilarious. Kluwe is an authority on being a distraction to an NFL club. He's also generating his own headlines today for making light of the victims raped by Jerry Sandusky. What a class act. READ MORE

I miss the days when the NFL was focused on good football. Today's NFL fans get a steady diet of commentary on social issues, such as gay rights and gun control.
