What ever happened to?

by Nick Vitrano

I’m not against the quest to better ourselves.  Never stop trying to improve.  The moment one believes himself just fine is the moment the competition has passed him by.  But our society has gotten silly with this.  We’ve gone too far.

So often, companies insist of improving upon things that need no improvement, generally at the expense of an existing product that is pleasing the masses.  Why did Taco Bell ever discontinue the Grilled Chicken Caesar Wrap?  Planters did the unthinkable, yanking the P.B. Crisp.  Sometimes a company mans up, admits mistake, and brings it back.  Kellogg’s Nut and Honey Crunch cereal (from the late 80’s) has resurfaced as Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut.  Good move, Kellogg’s.  Of course, New Coke/Coke Classic.  It is in that vein that I make my appeal this evening.

I’m begging the folks at Gatorade to bring back “Mike’s favorite flavor:” Citrus Cooler.  I’ve been told it’s still available, Gatorade lists it on its website, but I have yet to see it in a single retail store anywhere.  C’mon, Gatorade…
