Sickness is running through my house. Mia was super sick over the weekend and all she wanted to do was cuddle with mommy. Well, that didn't work out so well for me.
In the 3rd trimester a woman's immune system is weakest so of course if my daughter is sick and hugging and kissing on me I'm going to get sick too. Sure enough it hit me like a brick wall yesterday.
After suffering all day and going through a box of tissues and unable to lay down for a nap because Mia was feeling a bit better so she just wanted to play all day, I got to go to bed early. I opened my medicine cabinet for my face wash last night and saw the Nyquil in there and wished with all my heart that I could take it.
That's the worst part about being sick and pregnant you can't take anything. I took Tylenol for the headache, but other than that I'm outta luck.
Lots of rest...easier said than done with a 22 month old at home and a husband who is busy working on outside stuff before the snow flies.
Lots of water...I don't think it's possible to drink more without drowning myself, but I'll keep it up.
Orange juice...I've been drinking more orange juice lately anyway because it helps with the iron absorption and I was put on iron pills a few weeks ago.
Sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between a cold and the flu. The flu is accompanied by body aches (in pregnancy that's tough to identify too) and a fever. If a pregnant woman has the flu it's much more severe and warrants a trip to the clinic.
I think this girl needs to take off early today. Any suggestions of things to do to help me feel better that's safe for my babies?
